Matthew has been Sentenced for Life. He needs $1000 bail to get out of jail. As of tonight, he has raised $795. This is a fundraiser for The Room at the Inn of the Carolinas, a maternity home for homeless pregnant mothers. Room at the Inn also helps these women go to college.
Tomorrow is the last day. Please pray for Matthew to reach his goal, pray for the women Room at the Inn helps and pray for a successful fundraiser for all.

Pressed Flower Card Tutorial Video
Learn to press your own flowers AND how to make your own cards in this tutorial video! I love to press flowers from my garden and I think they make gorgeous cards! I made this video a while back for a video site and wanted to share it with my blog readers (I can do that because I retain rights to all my videos and creations!) I hope you enjoy learning to press your own flowers and to make cards with them.

Baseball, Football - Spring Sports Have Begun!
Saturday was the first practice for flag football AND it was the first baseball game for the FHE Hawks. The Hawks played a double header against the Triad Homeschool BlueJays high school team and won both games. FHE doesn't even have a full high school team and pulled kids from the middle school team to help out. It was chilly, but dry! The rain held out until both games were done. Sean was excited about both wins.
We are in full swing with baseball practice several times a week. More games coming up soon. Luckily, we don't have a game this weekend because Sean has his district piano competition at UNCG and we plan on watching the reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse!

Thank Yous
Thursday night, Dr. Cohen will be talking to parents about Mitochondrial Disease and he will be presenting grand rounds Friday morning. My friend, Jenny Hobbs helped to put it all together. I made 8 extra large thank you cards for her to give to those who donated food and time. We are so grateful for all the doctors and families who donated their time, talent and food to get this meeting together. I'm looking forward to meeting new Mito families and seeing old friends. Here's what the cards look like. I like how the flowers turned out!
