Toesday

We are still battling the toe infection.  Over a month on antibitoics, drained three times and it seems there is a little bit of infection left.  We are hoping that it is well enough today to do the procedure.  We shall see. We are calling today "Toesday" in hopes that today, the infection battle ends!

J has developed esophagitis -- which sometimes happens when he takes Clindamycin.  He's been on it every 8 hours--I've been very vigilant about that because of the infection. I wake him up in the middle of the night (usually 1am or so) to take the dose, making sure he drinks extra water and sits up for a bit afterward.

We continue to plod away with school and are working hard to get the word out about the Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rally in Winston-Salem, NC.

The response has been overwhelmingly good!  I hope we fill the plaza and the sidewalks surrounding the Hiram H Ward Federal Building in 10 days!  We've got speakers and all sorts of good things lined up.

Exactly 237 years to the day before our March 23 Rally, American patriot Patrick Henry delivered his famous speech with the concluding line, “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!”

Are Toes Really THAT Important?

After 3 weeks on antibiotics ( a few days between rounds) and the toe being drained 3 times, we are still battling an infected toe.  It is pretty crazy, isn't it?  Yesterday, the doctor prescribed 20 more days of Clindmycin and we hope to be able to have the procedure next week. J not having an immune system is the pits! In five months, he's had three different toes become infected from scratches or cuts.  Here's hoping this is the last!

The Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rally is coming along nicely.  We have Fr. John Eckert opening with a prayer and a few words and one of our Republican Forsyth County commissioners, Debra Conrad, closing with a few words and a prayer.  A friend is working on finding someone to sing the National Anthem at the beginning. This is going to be a great afternoon.

I called every church in Kernersville that was listed in the yellow pages today and started my way through all of the Winston-Salem churches. I had a very positive response!  Praise be to God.

I've never planned a protest, so this is a first. I'm learning as I go.  Here's hoping J's toe is healed by the time the rally rolls around!  Would you offer a prayer?

Happy Birthday to my 18 Year Old

M is 18 today.  He survived all of his non-life threatening, self inflicted personal injuries.   There were days that I doubted he'd make it to 18-- those days he would have his brothers video tape him doing some boyhood stunt.  We are proud of the young man he has become.  With God's grace, he is an amazing young man.  I am proud that he is active in our church and that he is also very active in the pro-life movement.  So very proud that he not only prays for the unborn, he puts his prayers into action by defending and promoting life.  I look forward to seeing what God has in store for this young man.

We made it through last week.  J was sick through Friday.  He started perking up Friday evening, as did S.  Saturday, S went to baseball practice after eating a decent lunch and staying hydrated with various forms of Gatorade (pre-during-after), but still ended up with an exercise headache. Dreaded Mito! So far (saying many prayers) no one else has come down with the dreaded vomiting virus. The ped said she thought it was norovirus. Awful stuff!

Yesterday, J came to me with another infected toe, so it is off to the doctor today.

Baseball season is IN..... we'll drive an hour to practice and hope to be home by 8:30 tonight.  It is the price to pay to play on a wonderful, Christian team.  We are looking forward to another wonderful season.
