We finished the Chasubles today!

We finished the chasubles today...and the boys could not wait to pretend to offer Mass with their friends. There were plenty of us in the *pews* as lay people, too.

Wow, what a wonderful job you did on these! Where's the decorative pillow? ;-) This is such a great idea--my young boys would use little plastic toys inside an old diaper wipe box to give communion to each other.

Blessings!

These are great! Do tell... what kind of fabric did you use? What did you use for the trim? Also, did you use the pattern from Our Father's House? Thanks!

God bless,

Ha ha... the boys actually want me to make Miters! My favorite fabric is the green we used for Sean (glasses)-- it is a textured cotton/poly blend. The others were all a silky polyester-- think tableclothes. I kept thinking about how we really could have used table clothes to make these. My friend brought a serger here and serged the edges. I found the 1 1/2 inch decorative ribbon to use for the St. Andrew Cross-- it made it fairly easy. We used the patterns from Our Father's house....sort of. We used paper plates for the neck holes and there is no pattern for the chasubles --you fold and cut the rounded edges.

These are beautiful. My 8yr old son has been bugging me to make chasubles (one for each liturgical season) so that he can say Mass at home. He loves these. If I get around to making them, I will send you a picture. Thanks for the inspiration.

In Christ through Mary,
